November 26, 2013 John Day River, Oregon
The early AM light on a young single year steelhead on the John Day. Won the weather lottery this trip with light wind, some fog and cloud cover or at least enough to keep the light off the water for part of the day. Water is at a great level with decent clarity, not too much to make fish too wary either. Small flies were working great the entire trip, color is up to you as we caught then on black, purple, blue, orange, red and pink! Not the fly, the presentation when swinging, have to get the fly in front of the fish.
